Astrological gems not only enhance the charm and beauty of a face but also act as a shield against many evils.It is wrong to think that they are just the past age superstition.But, I hope ,if properties of the various gems and their effects on life are made known to the critics by demonstrations , most of them will change their opinion.According to Ayurveda, Mani,mantra and medicines are all helpful to cure diseases and to maintain good health.The use and importance of medicine is well known to all.Gems control or eliminate diseases through the effect of light-waves.I am giving below the chief uses of some of these gems.

RUBY:It has marvellous effect on the functioning of heart and can be safely used in any kind of heart diseases.It controls and minimizes the frequency of heart attack.It also reduces the chance of pain in the back and fracture of bones.It hardens bone,prevents and minimizes the chances of heat stoke ,fire accidents ,head injuries and skin diseases.In case of eye-trouble caused due to affliction of the sun in the 2nd or the 12th of the natal chart,this stone can minimize the trouble.It controls bile also.Substitutes for ruby are spinel,garnet or ruby star.

PEARL:It has wonderful effect on the mind and control over various kinds of mental diseases( lunacy,insomnia,poor memory etc).It may give mental peace.Pearl also controls and cures diseases of the lungs and the breast piles,dysentery,calcium deficiency,leaukorea,flu,cancer,dropsy, and the like.It may save one from drowning.It also controls hysteria.In case of eye-trouble caused by affliction of the moon , pearl can minimize such troubles.Substitutes of pearl are the moonstone,conch or elephant tusk.
